K-Pop Kids Program

K-Pop Kids Program

WHAT IS THE KIDS PROGRAM?

Our Kids Program is designed for dancers who love K-Pop and are between the ages of 5 and 12. We focus on making classes fun and carefree! Dance is meant to be fun at their young age, so we make sure every kid has a great time while also building up their confidence. If your child can't sit still when they hear the beat drop, they will definitely have an awesome experience in our program!

WHO ARE THE INSTRUCTORS?

K-Pop Dance Dallas co-founder, David Yi, will be the main instructor and manager of this program. David has been teaching dance to kids as young as 5 years old for more than 15 years and loves to share his passion with young ones. While in college, he was the director and choreographer for Team Millennia's elementary and youth division: TM Tots and TM Juniors, respectively. He continues to work with kids at Regeneration Community Church and is excited to teach dance to little ones again!

HOW DIFFICULT ARE KIDS CLASSES?

The choreography taught in kids classes will focus on basic dance fundamentals and rhythm. Moves will not be difficult, though there might be a section where some steps are faster. The main goal of our class is to have fun and set a solid foundation that kids can carry over to the beginner series when they are ready.

DOES THIS MEAN KIDS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 5 AND 12
CANNOT ATTEND THE OTHER PROGRAMS?

No. If your child is advanced and can execute new moves after watching an instructor for just a few minutes, then they should attend a more challenging program to pique their interest during class. This class is meant for kids who have never taken a dance class before but want to learn.

WHAT KIND OF CHOREOGRAPHY WILL MY CHILD LEARN?

This is not a covers class. All choreography taught in this program will be original choreography created by the instructor. The choreography will focus on fundamentals and rhythm like simple 2 steps and weight transfer.

ARE PARENTS ALLOWED TO WATCH IN THE STUDIO?

We encourage parents to watch from outside the studio to allow students to develop independence and confidence. However, we do know that some kids may need their parents in the room until they get comfortable with the class. Please use your discretion whether you will be in the studio for the entirety of class. We ask that parents not be on/use their phones while they are in the room until it's time for groups at the end. At that time, we will allow parents to record their kids doing the routine they just learned. We also ask that parents not go in and out of the studio as this can cause a distraction for every student, especially your child.
